The skin on and around your lips is generally loose with lots of nerve endings. There’s not a lot of fat on your head, face, and ears, so you don’t have much of a cushion for the tattoo needle here. Like the neck, your head, face, and ears contain many nerve endings that can be irritated during a tattoo and may cause severe pain. Neck and spine tattoos are known to be among the most painful tattoos because the neck and spine are very sensitive areas. This is especially true if you are very thin and have less fat around your hips to cushion your hip bones. Hipsīecause your hip bones lie just below your skin, getting hip tattoos can cause severe pain. These characteristics make this area very sensitive to tattoo needles. The area behind your knees has loose, stretchy skin with many nerve endings. This is another part of the body where you may experience severe pain when being tattooed. Vibrations caused by tattooing over bone can cause high to severe pain. Your elbows and kneecaps are areas where your bones lie just beneath your skin. Your groin is filled with nerve endings that can be irritated by tattoo needles. ![]() Nipples and breasts are extremely sensitive areas, so being tattooed here can cause severe pain. It’s about the same level of pain caused by tattooing over your rib cage. Ankle and shin tattoos usually cause severe pain. Your ankle bones and shinbones lie just beneath thin layers of skin, making it very painful to be tattooed in these areas. The skin around your ribs is extremely thin, and there’s less fat here than on most other parts of your body.Īlso, every time you breathe, you move your rib cage and the skin above it, which can make the feeling of being tattooed here much more intense. The rib cage is probably the second most painful place for most people to get tattooed. In fact, most tattoo artists advise against people getting armpit tattoos. The pain you’ll experience getting tattooed here is very severe. The armpit is among the most painful places, if not the most painful place, to get tattooed. ![]() Pain in these areas may be high to severe. It’s likely most painful to get a tattoo on a part of your body with many nerve endings, close to bones without much fat, or where your skin is very thin. Here, we’ll take a closer look at the most and least painful places to get tattooed. The placement of your tattoo, as well as what your sex is, can affect the pain. Share on Pinterest Pain chart for people who are biologically maleĮveryone experiences pain in different ways. ![]() Read on to find out which spots are likely to be most and least painful. The most painful places to get tattooed are those with the least fat, most nerve endings, and thinnest skin. Here’s the general consensus: The least painful places to get tattooed are those with the most fat, fewest nerve endings, and thickest skin. While there is no scientific evidence that says which areas of the body will feel the most and least pain when getting inked, we gathered anecdotal information from sites run by people in the tattoo industry. In addition, the various parts of the body experience different levels of pain when tattooed. People who are biologically male tend to experience and cope with pain differently from those who are biologically female. So getting a tattoo is generally always painful, though people may experience different levels of pain. Tattooing involves repeatedly piercing your skin’s top layer with a sharp needle covered with pigment. While most people will say yes, in reality this is a complex question to answer. According to a 2010 study, a whopping 38 percent of people 18 to 29 years old have been inked at least once in their lives.Ī natural question to ask is, “Does getting a tattoo hurt?” Tattoos are among the most common body decorations globally.

![]() Played out constantly at what seemed like every party, event, or festival for years, this track not only gave us something to dance to but also a mission to embark on. So for this week’s Throwback Thursday I chose a song that nearly everyone in the electronic music scene should at least know.Īrguably Swedish House Mafia‘s biggest hit, “Save The World” helped break the barrier that had been put up between electronic music and terrestrial radio. With the current state of affairs of the world in mind and the constant things that arise seemingly every single day that affect or put down many in the scene, I think it is important to remember that together we can create a beautiful tomorrow. While many artists are creating sounds that still push that message of togetherness and that uplifting feeling that brings us together, it definitely has been less pronounced as of late. Over time, the message of the scene shifted in different directions as it grew into the behemoth that it is today. While many tunes embodied that message, none made that as clear as Swedish House Mafia‘s massive track, “Save The World”. The era was defined by tracks that featured melodies that were infectious and spread that mantra that we as ravers could come together to truly change the world. Something that I miss about the era of electronic music in which Swedish, progressive house dominated the soundscape was the absolutely uplifting, positive message that came with the music. Another term you may come across is executing the script (which means the same thing). For the most part you don't need to worry too much about this phenomenon however. We'll demonstrate this in the next section on variables and it's implications should become clearer. If we start a script running it doesn't actually run in that process but instead starts a new process to run inside. When we are at the terminal we have a Bash process running in order to give us the Bash shell. Once they are finished running the system then destroys them and there are no longer any processes representing the program cp. In this case there would be two cp processes currently existing on the system. For example I could have two terminals open and be running the command cp in both of them. There could be several processes representing the same program running in memory at the same time. We also allocate a bit of space in RAM for the process to store variables (to hold temporary working data) and a few flags to allow the operating system (OS) to manage and track the process during it's execution.Įssentially a process is a running instance of a program. What we do is copy those instructions and resources from the hard disk into working memory (or RAM). When we say we are running a program we are not really running the program but a copy of it which is called a process. A program is a blob of binary data consisting of a series of instructions for the CPU and possibly other resources (images, sound files and such) organised into a package and typically stored on your hard disk. In the realm of Linux (and computers in general) we have the concept of programs and processes. It's not necessary to understand this in order to write scripts but it can be useful to know once you start getting into more complex scripts (and scripts that call and rely on other scripts once you start getting really fancy). This is just a little bit of background knowledge. As you would be aware (and if you're not maybe you should consider reviewing our Linux Tutorial), Linux is an extensionless system so a script doesn't necessarily have to have this characteristic in order to work. It is convention to give files that are Bash scripts an extension of. In this sense, if you know how to do stuff at the command line then you already know a fair bit in terms of Bash scripting. It's just that instead of typing them at the command line we are now entering them into a plain text file. Just type the commands as you would normally and they will behave as they would normally. Similarly, anything you can put into a script can also be run normally on the command line and it will do exactly the same thing. ![]() An important point to remember though is:Īnything you can run normally on the command line can be put into a script and it will do exactly the same thing. These commands are a mixture of commands we would normally type ouselves on the command line (such as ls or cp for example) and commands we could type on the command line but generally wouldn't (you'll discover these over the next few pages). In the context of Bash scripts we are telling the Bash shell what it should do.Ī Bash script is a plain text file which contains a series of commands. A script for a computer tells the computer what it should do or say. The script tells the actors what they should say and do. Think of a script for a play, or a movie, or a TV show. Taking the time to read and understand the material in this section will make the other sections easier to digest so persevere and it'll be well worth your time. It's kinda boring but essential stuff that will help you to appreciate why and how certian things behave the way they do once we start playing about with the fun stuff (which I promise we'll do in the next section). ![]() This page is mostly foundation information. ![]() The resolution also calls on all states to adjust their national laws so that they can ratify all of the existing international conventions on terrorism.UN member states were encouraged to share their intelligence on terrorist groups in order to assist in combating international terrorism. The resolution aimed to hinder terrorist groups in various ways. The resolution was adopted under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter and is therefore binding on all UN member states. The Security Council Resolution 1373, adopted unanimously on 28 September 2001, is a counter-terrorism measure passed following the 9-11 terrorist attacks on the United States.Describing terrorism as the greatest threat to mankind, he had proposed an eight-point action plan at the UNSC to ensure effective action against the menace of terrorism.Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has recently addressed the United National Security Council (UNSC) open debate over ’20 years after the adoption of resolution 1373’ on combating terrorism.Highlighting yet again the issue of terror at the UN, India has said terror has become a “means of waging war” and requires “global action”.International terrorism is one of the most serious threats to international peace and security. The airstrike after the Pulwama attack and the earlier surgical strike made clear the zero-tolerance policy of India towards terrorism.
